About Me
My art began with love of photography. I am a fine art photographer, primarily self-taught. With my camera always at my side, I am compelled to capture moments of family, friends and nature. My camera is my brush and computer my canvas. I love “recreating” some of my photos into abstracts.
By extracting and manipulating various colors and shapes from my “traditional” photographs, an enhanced or entirely new image emerges.
Abstract art allows me to express myself in a more personal way.
The combination of realism and abstraction is what makes my work unique without getting locked into one or the other.
I served on the board of the North Shore Art Guild and am a member of
East End Arts and The Art Forum at the North Shore Public Library on
Long Island. My work has been exhibited in several galleries and libraries where I have received awards.
Inspiration comes from within. I am influenced by what is affecting the world and the appreciation of gifts life has given.
To find one’s passion is a blessing and I am blessed to have found mine.
